Interest-free loan 5.4 lac for livestock farmers: Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz launched the first phase of the Chief Minister Punjab Livestock Card Scheme in January 2025, and Phase II was also launched in May 2025.
Under this scheme, interest-free loans are provided to farmers to help in raising animals, purchasing feed, and overall maintenance of livestock.
Loan amount and tenure
- Loan amount: 135,000 to 540,000 (depending on the number of animals you have, which is limited to five to twenty animals)
- In Phase I, the amount was 135,000 to 270,000
- Cost Period: The First 6 months are reserved for using the fund, while repayment starts from the 7th month.
- Cash Withdrawal Facility: 30% of the total loan amount can be withdrawn in cash; the rest is used to buy Vita Food, etc.

Eligibility Conditions
- Permanent resident of Punjab;
- Registered in Livestock Department System 9211;
- Valid CNIC;
- Active Mobile Number (SIM) registered in the name of APNI;
- Clear credit history in the Electronic Credit Information Bureau (ECIB);
- Eligible for NADRA and NACTA verification
- Registered on Apna Form

Application Procedure
SMS format to apply:
- SMS to 8070;
- Selection is done on a “first-come, first-served” basis
- The Urban Unit screens eligible persons and their animals

- Budget 2025-26: A special budget of ₹1 billion has been allocated for the Livestock Card Scheme

- Ensure verification of CNIC, farm registration, SIM, etc..

- After approval, the loan will be credited to your settlement bank account or card.
- Use the loan on animal feed and care.
- Start paying regular installments after 7 months.
- Farmers who have returned to Phase I will be given priority benefits in Phase II.
