Free Eco-Bikes for Students. In a high-level meeting held in Islamabad on Friday, July 18, 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the federal government will provide more than 100,000 free electric bikes to students who have excelled in academic results. In addition, 300,000 electric loaders and rickshaws will be given to unemployed people at low interest rates

Key points of the plan:
- 25 percent quota has been reserved for women, and 10 percent for Balochistan
- All these facilities will be given to the toppers of classes 11 and 12, all education boards (including federal) are included
- The government will establish a complete ecosystem (manufacturing, battery manufacturing plants, maintenance network) for electric transport. The meeting was informed that four new battery factories will start soon
- Third-party monitoring will be mandatory for transparency, and international standards of quality and safety will be implemented
- An effective public awareness campaign will be run so that people can benefit from the benefits of this scheme
