CM Punjab Free Solar Scheme: Chief Minister Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme – A Bright Future for the People. The Punjab government has taken a revolutionary step to overcome the energy crisis and keep in mind the public welfare. The “Free Solar Panel Scheme” launched by the Chief Minister of Punjab is not only a means of relieving the public from heavy electricity bills but is also a positive step towards reducing environmental pollution and sustainable development.
Target Group
This scheme has been introduced specifically for domestic consumers whose monthly electricity consumption is up to 200 units. The main objective of this scheme is to benefit low-income people from solar energy so that they can get uninterrupted and low-cost electricity.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility of the consumer to benefit from this scheme will be determined on the basis of the electricity bill of June 2024. Only those consumers whose approved electricity load is 2 kW or less will be eligible. This condition is intended to include only those people who really need this facility.

System Capacity
Two types of solar systems will be provided to the consumers according to their usage:
- Consumers who consume up to 100 units of electricity per month will be provided with a 550-watt solar system.
- Consumers consuming 101 to 200 units will be given a 1100-watt solar system.

Verification Process
After registration, the eligibility of the applicant will be verified through the reference number of the electricity bill and National Identity Card (CNIC) to ensure transparency.
Transparent Selection Method
To ensure transparency, a computerized balloting system has been put in place in this scheme. The selection of successful candidates will be done in a completely impartial manner.
