CM Punjab Agriculture Department, phase II, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Lahore, July 10, 2025 – formally launched the second phase of various agricultural projects under the Agriculture Department. These initiatives aim to provide farmers with modern technology, financial support, and economic sustainability.

Key decisions and details

1. In-principle approval and funding

Interest-free loans of Rs 100 billion will be given through the issuance of 628,000 Kisan Cards

The processing fee of Rs 1,000 has been abolished in the system.

2. Review of Pothohar projects

A complete analysis of 500 mini dams and 250 water reservoir-based projects was conducted

3. Agricultural Medium Machinery and Subsidies

  • 20,000 subsidized tractors will be provided under the Green Tractor Scheme Phase II:
  • Subsidy of Rs. 5 lakh on 50–65 horsepower tractors
  • Subsidy of Rs. 1 million on 75–125 horsepower
  • Applications will be received from August 2025, and manufacturing and distribution will be

4. Tube Well Solarization

  • In the first phase, solarization has started in 7,670 tube wells, and 652 have been completed
  • A target has been set to solarize 5 lakh tube wells in five years, and instructions have been given to complete the current phase by September.

5. Agricultural Internship Program

Under Phase II, training of 2,000 agri interns will start in September, and field services will start from October.

6. Other initiatives

  • Under the Vet Support Program, 700 free tractors have already been provided, and another 300 tractors have been ordered to be provided in 15 days
  • Supply of super seeder machinery has been instructed to complete 5,000 by October
  • Consideration is being given to providing 9,000 high-tech agricultural machines on a subsidy
  • Innovative initiatives such as the establishment of gardens (tachis, ginger, olives, etc.) and mobile labs in specific areas have also been taken.
