The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is a welfare scheme of the Government of Pakistan, which aims to provide financial assistance to the poor and deserving families of the country. It was launched in 2008 and is specifically designed to empower women. Under BISP, eligible families are provided with cash every few months to help them meet their basic needs. The program has been improved through transparency, digital registration, and biometric verification. It is a major government initiative for poverty alleviation and social protection.
The July 2025 installment of BISP 8171 has begun. A quarterly amount of Rs. 13,500 is being provided to eligible women. The payment is being made in phases: first in major cities, then in rural areas. The funds can be obtained from Bank Alfalah, HBL Connect, Jeez Cash, Easypaisa, and BISP campsites, provided that CNIC and biometric verification are complete. Payment Amount and Timing
- Amount:
Rs. 13,500 (per eligible woman, quarterly installment)
- Start:
Payments are being made in phases from the first week of July 2025.
- Schedule:
Phase 1 (Early July): Start in major cities (Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, etc.)
Phase 2 (July 10 to 20): Medium-sized districts
Phase 3 (Last decade of July): Payments in rural and remote areas

SMS Notification:
You will receive an SMS from 8171 stating the date and location of the payment.

Identity Verification:
Original National Identity Card (CNIC) and thumb impressions (biometric verification) are mandatory.
Eligibility Criteria
Only women who are:
- Registered in 8171
- Eligible (as per PMT score)
- Not a government employee
- Holding a valid CNIC
Women for whom NADRA biometric verification is not possible will have to get it verified by NADRA first.
