Biometric Verification Mandatory for Jazz Cash
Biometric Verification Mandatory for Jazz Cash: The State Bank of Pakistan has taken a major decision to secure the digital financial system across the country. From July 1, 2025, biometric verification (thumb recognition) has been made mandatory for withdrawing or sending money from Jazz Cash and Easy Paisa. This means that financial transactions will no longer be possible from an account registered on someone else’s identity card.
Why was the Decision Taken?
Mobile banking is growing rapidly in Pakistan, but with it, cases of fraud, identity theft, and illegal transactions have also increased. Most people are using Jazz Cash or Easy Paisa accounts registered on someone else’s identity card, which are now being stopped:
- Make the financial system transparent
- Ensure complete protection of the user’s identity
- Eliminate any kind of financial irregularities
Who will have to Take Immediate Action?
This guidance will apply to all those who:
- Are you using a Jazz Cash or Easy Paisa account registered in someone else’s name
- Are you using an account in the name of a deceased person
- Are engaging in financial transactions without verified biometrics
If you or anyone in your household is using a mobile wallet in someone else’s name, it is essential to close or switch your account before July 1. Otherwise, withdrawals will not be possible, and the money will remain locked in the account.
