1399 Help line scheme. The Punjab government has launched an innovative scheme to bring green color to its people’s homes under the campaign of environmental protection and cleanliness solidarity. Under this scheme, citizens can call “Help Line 1399” and request the government to provide 17 different types of plants free of cost. Local horticulture authorities (like PHA in Lahore, CDA in Islamabad, etc.) easily carry out the distribution of sample plants provided to the citizens.

- Citizens can call Help Line 1399 or send a request through SMS.
- The concerned District Horticulture Authority will contact you.

Recently, saplings were distributed at more than 30 locations in Lahore under the “Chief Minister Plant for Pakistan” campaign, where a Miyawaki forest of 6,000 plants was also planted, and the target of planting 200,000 saplings was on in Lahore. With the cooperation of PHA and LDA, saplings were provided free of cost to citizens at various locations.
Similarly, the CDA of Islamabad released a list of 17 types of native plants so that only those plants that are environmentally friendly are planted under CSR. This list guides you on planting trees in the city.

- To benefit from this scheme, call Help Line 1399 or submit an online application.
- In the application, specify your home address and the type of plants you want.
- Once the plants are provided, plant them in the right place — a place with adequate sunlight and water availability.
- After planting, monitor the plant regularly (water, prune, fertilizers) so that the plant remains healthy.
- It would be better if a small amount of fruits or vegetables could be produced at home as a result of kitchen gardening.
